There is lots to look at here but not well displayed. Old dusty place but does seem to fit the things in it. Only $3.00 so it's still worth a visit.

I really liked going down history lane in this museum. It has all the items that Julian used to live in Julian. It had, tools, books, clothes, carriages from the early 1900's. they had old pianos, typewriters, furniture and so many pictures. I highly recommend this museum for history lovers, so worth it.

We figured this would be a good, restful activity for us and our seven-year old during our visit to Julian. While the building is crammed full of interesting items, there is almost no context provided, so it has the feeling of an old rummage sale most of the time, with the occasional interactive exhibit (such as the various furs for... We enjoyed speaking with Donna and David about the history of the town. They were knowledgeable and friendly.

They ask for a donation to visit which helps to cover their expenses. There is a good representation of the local mining history as well as items provided by local families and business. I enjoyed walking through this museum

If you have children this is an average museum because a lot of it is ready and "Please Do Not Touch" signs. It's cute but do not plan your day here. My 6 yr old son and I spend out 30 minutes inside. It's a $3 donation for adults.

fortunately, the dedicated volunteer opened on Martin Luther King Day, tho the museum is not usually open on Mondays. For $3 per person, we were diverted for 45 minutes by some interesting old-fashioned displays about the mining town's early days. worth it? Yeah.
