The washed-out bridge was where the original town of Klamath was located--and completely destroyed by flood. They relocated the town. Worth a stop-and-see on a pretty drive.

This is just a drive across bridge but the two bears on each end are pretty cool -- they're "gold." We stopped and took pictures.

In reading other reviews, I see that this is being confused with the Hwy 101 Klamath bridge. This Memorial is NOT the bridge! You get to this Memorial by turning west on Klamath Beach Road -- this is not directly on Hwy 101. This is...More

I drove back and forth over this bridge a number of times during my recent stay in the area. The first thing you notice: a gold bear statue on each side of the road. You say to yourself, "I wonder why they are painted gold."...More

If you drive up or down 101 you have no choice but to cross this bridge over the Klamath River. Nothing to write home about.

Here on this side road you can get a glimpse of the Klamath river on your drive to the mouth of the river where it meets the ocean and get out and walk to the river and ocean.

The first time I drove over this bridge I nearly crashed the truck as I wanted to look at the bears! We ended up staying nearby so drove over it nearly every day. I hadn't realized it was historical until we looked it up to...More

The glimpse of the view from the bridge alludes to the beauty of the area - but we found nowhere to safely stop to admire it from. Maybe, in time, somewhere will be provided given the relative popularity. Liked the golden bear...

You will be tempted to look at the river as you cross this bridge. The view is spectacular. That exit leads to some fine redwood forest and hiking trails.
