It was supposed to be a children's pool, but the harbor seals took over and it's a main tourist and local attraction. Great picture spot.

We went to see the seals but unfortunately there wasn’t many around while we were there. We seen a few close to shore. The water was freezing but the views were amazing!!

This isn't a children's pool. It's more like a sea otter pool. Sea otters populate the entire area and you can get pretty close to them. It's a free trip - just remember to bring your camera.

Can’t pass this place up during the day or evening. They have it marked off in the evening because the sea lions come and go to find a restful place. Fun to see how territorial some of them are. Not sure if you can swim...More

Yes this place was very cool since you get to go very close to the sleeping seals. We stayed there close to an hour sipping coffee and watching them. But, don't expect to be able to hop in the water, it's really not that kind...More

Walked down the beach from La Jolla Cove. Beach filled with seals so it is a definite attraction. Plenty of wildlife in the cliffs on the way.

We landed in San Diego on a Saturday morning and drove straight to La Jolla (the kids wanted to see a beach). We made a pit stop at Mount Soledad (a must if you are in the area), but that wasn't close enough. We drove...More

A must see place is all I will say. Natural beauty and so serene and I loved the seals. I hope we can come back again soon.

You need to research the building and purpose of this place. I wont tell you what happened to this park. It is really a hoot. The place is really cool. LOTS of seals and all sorts of animal life. We enjoyed laughing at the babies...More

Our 11 year old asked if we could go here. We looked it up and read about it online and then stopped by on our way to go kayaking. The Children's Pool probably ended up being the highlight of our trip. The beach wasn't crowded...More

Seals were there in-full sunbathing. Beautiful place to see them as well as some stunning views of the cliffs overlooking the Pacific
