Great beach with enough space for everyone. You can go for a stroll on the beach and walk to the other beaches from there during low tide. Not many restaurants or bars nearby so bring your own drinks and food.

Love this park. It overlooks the beach and ocean. It is only a few yards away from the cove where you can watch the sea lion's bask in the sun. Wonderful place to play frisbee, or just sit and watch people

we walked along this beach, it was too cold even at the end of May to sunbathe. The surfers were out in force. It is not a soft sandy beach, but is allright for walking, but not much in the way of toilet facilities.

This is a busy beach, but great for a family picnic, with a lovely grassy area next to the beach. There are showers and washrooms close by and lots of places to wander around close by, such as La Jolla Cove.

This is a great beach for anyone, it is particularly family friendly. The people we've met there have always been friendly and respectful. The rowdy party crowd seems to gather elsewhere (ah I remember those days fondly). My grandkids had their first beach experiences here...More

This was where we first saw the seals laying on the rocks. Great location with a long footbridge for viewing of the seals, we didn't see any sea lions here. Public restrooms are here also, which we needed after our drive and walk from the...More

Staying two blocks from this beach made it easy to go twice during my 5 day stay. The beach if free (unlike NJ!), and it appears there are lifeguards year round. Very relaxing and safe.

La Jolla Shores Park is a great place to visit anytime of day but I enjoy the early morning as the parking is easy and surfers are out in full force. Great walking beach as Sand is raked every night by the city and beach...More

What a lovely place at sunset! The kids loved romping in the sand and the playground. The views are fabulous!

La Jolla Shores is a nice, wide and clean stretch of beach. There is a parking lot almost on the beach, a nice grassy area and a playground for the kids. On nice days this beach can get very crowded. So parking fills up quick...More

We plan to attend Grunion Run this Friday June 9 at La Jolla Shores or the Scripps Pier. I know La Jolla Shores beach is really busy during the day. Where is a good place to park for the grunion Run and How early should we arrive to get a parking spot? Thanks.

There's a parking lot that fills fast during the day and for sunset (and probably during the grunion runs). There is free street parking however, just plan to walk a few blocks. Don't forget to drop a pin so you don't... More

Hi, we are going to be in San Diego from 7th April for about 9 days. My teenage daughter is hoping to do some sunbathing and swimming in the sea. What are the chances of that given average temperatures mid April? What's it there like now? Any swimmers in the sea???

Hi, sunbathing should be ok, the temperatures during the day are quite warm, even right now, provided there is no cloud cover or even fog. The water temperature of the Pacific Ocean is generally not very warm, especially not... More
