We visited Mt. Soledad before heading back to Irvine. We witnessed the beautiful sunset and enjoyed the weather at night. It may too windy at some point but the view is worth it. You can take your car up to Mt. Soledad and the roads...More

Worth the drive. It is a fun drive to the top with Panoramic views of the area and a monument to the military. The homes are also gorgeous.

There are no activities at this historic monument, but the views are spectacular. One can see both the ocean and the bay at the same time, the surrounding area and the history of the site.

My brother took a friend and I up there one night and wow what an awesome sight that was. The stairs is a heck of a climb if you are a heavy smoker but it was well worth it to me. Once you get to...More

We went up to the memorial to see my father-in-law's brother's plaque. There are so many stories to see there, it is amazing! And even better is the cross watching over them!

Most big cities have skyscrapers for best 360 views of their cities with a hefty entrance fee. San Diego has Mount Soledad. And it's free. Pay your respect at the Veterans Memorial, where a massive cross monument is erected, as you soak in the spectacular...More

I was very pleased that my bus (trolley) tour included a stop up here. We enjoyed views and it was a very thoughtful memorial for US service men women.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites in the La Jolla beach area is less than a mile from Mt. Soledad is probably one of the cheapest and it includes Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet. Good Luck

It sounds beautiful. I have a disability which limits me in walking long distances. What is your general view if this is handicap accessible?

The slope up is pretty gentle and yes, it is accessible from all 360 degrees, however there are stairs to get to the foot of the cross itself. You wont be disappointed tho, its breathtaking
Is the trail well signed? What is the elevation gain and time to reach the memorial at the top?
