My 16 year old son and I took the La Jolla Cove Cave Tour and loved it. We rented a 2 person kayak (I had never kayaked before) and that worked well. The tour guides, Addison and Eric, were great. They taught us much and took us into one of the caves in the cove. Sea lions were plentiful, even... More

Used La Jolla Kayak for a kayaking tour of the caves, and later for snorkeling equipment. The kayaking was fun. Great enthusiastic tour guides and a great time in the ocean. I did want to do a few caves, rather than just one, but still had a blast. Saw tons of sea lions and great sea life. Great instruction but... More

Rented a kayak from La Jolla Kayak Saturday. The gal at the counter helping us wasn't very organized with what information we needed to know before we headed out. So we walked down the beach without lifejackets because we didn't know you needed to get them from the store. When we arrived at the beach there were 4 guys sitting... More

I went on this excursion with my 7yo daughter, and she did not even bring a paddle for herself, only I paddled on our double kayak, which was no problem at all. We had excellent conditions on our tour, with a calm, clear ocean, and lots of leopard sharks and sea lions everywhere. No kayaks tipped on our tour. My... More

I would recommend this more for families or people who would not normally go kayaking on their own. I wouldn't recommend this for smaller children as it requires a certain level of fitness/ strength. Our two guides were great and made sure we saw the local sharks and fish. The only cave you actually go into is really awesome; there... More

Being from the Gulf side of the U.S. and not use to waves we(group of 5) were slightly worried about about the waves despite being able to swim. Our tour guide Chris was fantastic on assuring us things were fine and waters were calm. We had a great time and seeing the sea lions in the caves was very cool.... More

We did the original kayak tour during the first week of July 2014. When we booked we were instructed to arrive 40 minutes before departure of the tour. When we arrived at the requested time we spent 5 minutes filling out disclaimer forms, so we ended up with more than half an hour of waiting time. This waiting was further... More

Our hotel told us that all of the kayak outfitters are the same down on Avenida La Playa, so we went to La Jolla Kayak because we had a flyer. We wanted to rent two single kayaks on our own, but they said that the surf could be rough, and recommended a double. They explained that unless we went on... More

I am truly impressed with La Jolla Kayak. Our guides Zoey and Chris were fantastic, knowledgeable, and helpful. They both made the day so much fun. We had a variety of people and skill levels in our group; but, they adjusted for everyone quickly and easily. There were a couple guys that didn't want to get in the water for... More

I did a combo bike and kayak tour. Ended up being the only one on the bike tour, so I had Tom the tour guide all to myself. Very enjoyable, and the ride was really easy -- mostly downhill, with a few short uphill rides which shouldn't be any problem for people with just a little bit of cycling experience.... More
