Gorgeous views and plenty of places to get your feet wet. The weather was too chilly to get too wet, but we had a nice walk along the coast and got to explore several tide pools, rock formations and a waterfall.

Crystal Cove State Park has a beautiful beach on the west side of the PCH, and trails for hiking and mountain biking on the east side. Took an energizing walk into the hills, then relaxed with a stroll on the beach. The drought conditions meant...More

My wife & I visited because we had heard about the accessible cliff walk. (I'm temporarily hobbled by a torn hamstring). The park staff was very helpful. There are at least 3 major parking areas: One for backcountry hiking (I really want to come back...More

Whenever possible, I try to do my exercising outdoors, which is one of the reasons I love business trips to southern CA! This beach is terrific for a very long walk with ample parking at sunset. Although the access fee is $15, when I was...More

The trail was a nice variety of beach and pavement. The high breezes on the beach can make it chilly, so go prepared. The path down to the beach is steep, and once down, there weren't many options for trails to go back up, so...More

One of the only undeveloped stretches of coastline in Southern California, Crystal Cove is a great place to spend the afternoon. If you want to spend the night, they also have a bunch of really nice beach houses at the north end of the park....More

This is an artist colony from the last mid-century. If you’ve seen the movie Beaches with Bette Miller and Barbara Hershey, you have seen Crystal Cove. The sandy beach is wonderful, the tide pools intriguing, and the old artists homes along the cliffs overlooking the...More

This is a special place. Peaceful and beautiful among the hustle and bustle of the surrounding area. Be sure to walk on the beach away from the main, more populated Crystal Cove accommodation area to experience a beautiful place. Early some winter mornings you may...More

Our family visits Crystal Cove beach often during the summer, but this time we enjoyed the hiking trails of El Moro Canyon. The trails range from easy to difficult and there are lots of options in between of varying lengths. It's a great hike, but...More

Please confirm with a state park ranger, but there are picnic spaces on the cliff areas over the beach. I believe they do allow for a small propane grill but please confirm with the park staff.
