I've lived in SD for 18 years and have never made it out here. This was so easy!!!! I drove out the 52 to the site (less than 30 minutes from my house). I couldn't believe it was also only about a half a mile from the 8 as well. The camp is well hidden from the freeway and there... More

But not much else to do here. Wanted to rent a kayak but they are only available on the weekend and we arrived too late on Sunday afternoon for that. My husband wanted to try fishing for catfish at the lake in the evening and he was not allowed to fish at night. Best thing about it was that it... More

This is a great place to do some camping and get out of the city. I stayed in site 36 and was constantly in awe of the beautiful scenery. You could hear the freeway but it did not ruin the experience. The staff was friendly and helpful.

This lovely little lake is located very close to the hustle and bustle of San Diego, but you'd never know it, it's so quiet and peaceful here. We camped here for 4 nights, and were fortunate to get a site with quite a bit of shade to shelter us from the sweltering heat wave that moved through while we were... More

San Diego native (always lived close to the beach). Now that I'm back in town I wanted to explore more of the exterior of the county and its surrounding area and had a pleasant day here. Campgrounds look clean and it appears to a great spot for a stay-cation. Once you're out here it feels as if you are no... More

Lake Jennings has a very pleasant campground right on the edge of the lake. Campsites are shaded and there are trails right down to the lake for strolling or fishing. If you want to put a boat there are boat ramps nearby also. I like to hike along the unpaved section of the road around the lake. It makes for... More

Stayed at the campground during the trip to San Diego. The tent site we stayed at had plenty of space, and the other campers were very quiet. The bathrooms are adequate -- comparable to an average KOA -- though I've seen nicer. The views from the campground are also very nice, and there is plenty to do in the area.... More

I grew up camping and fishing here. The campground is looking great again after the fires we had in San Diego county in 2003 & 2007. The restrooms have been updated and there is handicap/family restrooms and showers that are separate from the public restroom and shower. There are fish cleaning stations at the campground. They have hookups for moterhomes/trailers... More
