This large property really demonstrates how our State history was rooted. The visitor center, the exhibits, the little bookstore. Lots of families having picnics and enjoying time together

Unfortunately this Mission is not an active Church anymore and is a State Park of California in the middle of a relatively uninhabited area. This Mission was founded on December 1787 by the Franciscan Father Fermín Lasuén.

I live close by to this fabulous mission. Friends and I often go walking here. It’s a great place to see! They often have events that are kid friendly and show you what the mission used to be like back in the day.

La Purisma is one of the historical mission in California. There are hiking trails all over the part for families and seasoned hikers. A great family place.
