I have been visiting the missions in California and was driving down Hwy 101 and decided to make a small detour to visit La Purisima in Lompoc. The mission is run by the State Parks. There was a ranger at the entrance who informed me...More

We arrived on a day in the Holidays that all of the facilities were closed but this didn’t detract from our experience. We wandered the mission with friends that had previously visited and garnered information from notice boards about the history of the missions and...More

We happened to stop on a Thursday and the mission was hosting busloads of 4th graders on field trips. We lucked out, as the mission had living history docents throughout, who were glad to talk with us about the mission, it’s history, and life there,...More

After stepping through the trees and seeing the mission from a far, it feels like you are immediately back in the 1800s. We loved this place. Very nice.
