The museum has changed over time from a self guided tour to a kid focused experience. There are a number of children interactive activities at the lower level entrance and puppeteers with flying dinosaurs and people offering to take family pictures.

We had a great time. The kids enjoyed the activity room where they could actually touch things! lol It's a good location, parking is available, lots to see, new exhibits, interesting stuff.

I believe you can come back if you keep and show your dated ticket. They don’t take your ticket when you come in, only looking at the date, so they won’t know if it’s your first or fifth time coming in.

Traffic in Los Angeles is unpredictable. I think 1 1/2 should be plenty of time.
