    Kinda touristy, not impressed
I grew up in LA long before this place was around. I checked it out when if first opened up and was like, "Meh." Then again, I grew up about 10 miles from Disneyland and have ben there maybe a half dozen times in my life. I wasn't even impressed the time I had dinner at Club 33 (look it up). So Cal is great. But, the tourist traps are just that: traps for tourists ... and their money. I've lived in San Diego for about 30 years and laugh at the tourists who go to the zoo, Sea World, Seaport Village, etc. I would rather go to Hawaii (Maui, not Oahu or the Big Island). Is it expensive? Sure. but, it's so worth it.

    Fun and busy
My family was on a quick visit to LA the week after Christmas 2022, and spent a day at Universal. We did not get the upgraded tickets (which would have nearly doubled the cost for us), though maybe we should have. We waited in line for three hours for Hogwarts (and apparently it was nearly four hours for those who came a bit later). There is some entertainment along the way, but not enough really. Then again, the upgraded tickets would not have helped us get food. The restaurants and food stands were completely mobbed. (I can't imagine how stressful this was for the staff!) Universal was simply unable to handle the needs of the crowds, though they tried. We did manage to get onto several rides, besides Hogwarts, including MInions and Jurassic Park, and we enjoyed them all. We also got to see the Special Effects show, which was a lot of fun. Plan to do a lot of walking and looking. The park itself is fantastical and beautifully decorated. I do recommend it, though perhaps choose different timing and splurge for the upgraded tickets.
Hi Anthony! Thank you for your kind recommendation. While the Holiday Season can be a busy time of the year, we are so happy to hear you had a great time at our Park. Thank you!

    Universal fun!!!!
Great day!! My family and I had an amazing day at Universal Studios. The guest experience from the beginning with Tomas C as an admission host was fun. He was warm and friendly made us laugh, our favorite part was the Harry Potter experience. Thank you so much ! Going back soon.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We will be sure to forward this feedback to Tomas' Senior Leadership Teams and give them our personal thanks. We hope to see you again very soon!

    Park needs improvement
Decent park, requires a lot of improvements. Parking was inefficient, lines to get in were moving very slow. Seems like the park needs major upgrades in technology and even the rides. Some lines were unnecessarily long and slow. There is also very little to do there for 3-4 year olds and you have to pay full price!!! There’s one ride for young children and a very small Dino play land. Definitely Universal could add 1-2 more rides for little ones, an additional play land and some kid friendly shows and character areas We felt we overpaid and were at a vintage park for teenagers who didn’t know most of the characters and movie rides. The new Super Mario World is very nice to see, but it has one ride that has a 180 minute wait time the entire day. The other activities in there are additional costs!!! Seems like just another area for them to make more money when we have already paid so much
Hi there, we are so sorry to hear that your experience was anything less than perfect. If you plan on visiting the Park in the future, our shows, as well as the Super Silly Fun Ride and the DreamWorks Theatre featuring Kung Fu Panda, do not have height restrictions. While the World-Famous Studio Tour also does not have a specific height requirement, parental discretion is advised as the tour features content from PG-13 films.  You are also welcome to use our Child Switch Program. If a little one in your party cannot ride an attraction, one or two adults can wait with the child in the attraction’s Child Switch room. When the rest of your party returns, they switch so the waiting party may then ride as well. We hope this sets up your next visit for success.

    New APs at Universal
My husband and I hadn't been to USH in 25 years and we decided this year to get passes because they are fairly inexpensive in comparison to Disney and we are close enough to go on a whim. Made our first reservation for a Sunday in early March and we were on our way with our boys 16, 13 and 8. My two youngest are autistic and we stopped at guest services to inquire about the attraction pass they provide for people with disabilities they really were so sweet to both my boys and the whole process was very easy to sign up and made the day go so smoothly. My boys loved all the rides and although it got pretty crowded we didn't have too much hassle navigating the park on a very busy first day. Fast forward to a couple weeks later and we came in later in the day and were in the park for about 4 hours and did so much because at night time the park really emptied out and we were able to ride rides with no wait over and over a couple times even the big rides like the mummy and Jurassic World. The light show on the Hogwarts castle is also not to be missed can't wait for more fun with my family in the months ahead. One weird con I have is they don't have paper towels in the restroom but for the most part I don't really have many complaints.
Hi Andi, we are so happy that you and your family enjoyed our Park. We truly appreciate our kind, courteous, and compassionate Guest Relations Team! We will be sure to forward your kind words to their Senior Leadership Teams and give them our personal thanks. We look forward to seeing you soon, and thank you for being Pass Members!

Tons of fun but long long lines
Harry Potter world was amazing with lots to do and see, and the Revenge of the Mummy ride was exciting as always. I hope they keep that ride forever. Harry Potter Forbidden Journey ride was spectacular. The Hogwarts Castle nighttime light show was phenomenal. The Jurassic World ride was wonderful and had lots of dinosaurs in it. Minion Mayhem was definitely for little kids and not worth the 45 minute wait as an adult. Despicable Me land was cool though. As an adult who loves Minions, I still had fun, but wished there was more minion-esque things for adults to do. Things to improve: Waiting in line for most rides was lackluster. There were tv screens to look at that filtered through material. It would've been smart and a lot more fun if Universal had people dressed in character costumes entertaining us while we all waited. There should have been people dressed as minions, trainers carrying baby dinosaurs for us to pet, and a guy dressed as the Mummy scaring us. The other downside was the massive crowds. We were shoulder to shoulder packed like sardines. I've been to Universal many times and this was crazy, not like the past. The lines were outrageous. Wait times were an hour average but ranged from 40 mins to 2.5 hours. There should definitely be extra entertainment for the people waiting in line.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your visit. We always appreciate any and all feedback that our Guests are willing to provide. We are happy to hear about your day in the Park! We always recommend Jurassic World - The Ride and Revenge of the Mummy for our thrill seekers. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Perfect for angsty 12 year old that doesn’t love roller coasters
It was fun. The lines are super long. Moes tavern was totally good. I wanted to go to like any other theme park in socal but my 12 year old was insistent on going here and it was actually perfect for him. A good day.

    Magical Experience
I recently visited Universal Studios Hollywood and had an incredible time! The park is packed with thrilling rides, exciting attractions, and fun experiences for all ages. One of the highlights of my visit was the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where I felt like I was transported straight into the books and movies. The attention to detail in the shops and rides was truly impressive, and I loved trying Butterbeer for the first time.
We are thrilled to hear that you had a great time at our park! We appreciate your positive feedback.

    Amazing Experience.
Don't miss the Harry Potter, Transformers, Jurassic World, and The Mummy rides. It's better not to go on weekends. It's better to take the express entry pass, to skip the long queue. I was in the queue for each ride and had to wait for 60-75 minutes for each ride in the sun in the scorching heat. Also, do not miss the Tour Bus ride to see how movies are made.
Hi there! We always recommend the Universal Express for priority access to all of our Attractions and Shows (excluding Mario Kart™: Bowser's Challenge). Thank you so much for providing tips and tricks for future visitors to our Park! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

The studio tour was the highlight, although I was disappointed we didn't see any actual current filming. The rides are decent enough, although the lack of space means most are 3-D rather than traditional rollercoasters. We got the express tickets and didn't regret it all, it was a weekday but some queues were 30 minutes, yet we walked right on every time. It meant we could do and see everything in a 6 hour day.

Universal, never disappoints, but you must see the Harry Potter world outstanding and out of this world also worth doing the Hollywood tour around the studios

Awesome place, but they let too many ppl in and ruins the experience. 2 1/2 plus hour waits for rides so we did 2 rides in a 10 hour day out. We didnt have kids or a pram, and it was a nightmare for us. Bucket list was a DUFF beer and they were out of it. The studio tour was OK, only got to do the minion ride and that was cool. Would loved to have done and experienced more, they should cap numbers to better the experience, it is all pre booked so wouldnt be hard to cap, even from a safety aspect, felt too packed

Extremely crowded when our family visited on a Tuesday of Thanksgiving week with average waiting times of over an hour. The cool Studio tour was tarnished by the stinking, polluting diesel-trolley's exhaust fumes blowing into riders faces. Considering the high profits Universal Studio makes, they should be leaders of sustainability. Single-use containers, plastic bottles, and unsustainable merchandise and materials abound. With our planet as their logo and huge profits generated each day, I expect Universal Studios to take more responsibility and care for our planet and I found it very disappointing how backward they are, at the expense of our children's future. No good alternative transportation options besides car.

Had a great time utilizing the Express Pass. Unfortunate that Mario Kart is excluded for now, and that you can only use 1x per ride. Found out you can upgrade it to unlimited times per ride in the park for an extra $50.
If we didn’t have express pass, it would have been a miserable day at the park, with very long lines during the day we went during Thanksgiving week. Express pass saved the day!

Incredible! Was nervous to see if it would live up to Orlando’s Universal studios and it definitely did! Love the layout with the upper and lower lots, but best experience out of everything was the studio tour bus through the movie sets. I can’t remember the name of the young lady that was our tour guide, but she was amazing! Very informative but also very comical too! It was great, could have spent all day just going through the sets!

They are cramming too many people into there. Oversold and overhyped. Rides aren’t worth it. Nintendo World had a 2+ hour ride for a terrible ride. Went with someone in a wheelchair and forget about it. Far too busy to accomodate

With the recent opening of Mario World, this place was pumping! Recommend heading here first in the morning to secure a booking at Toad’s cafe. Ride times can get extreme but the entire park is manageable in a day!
