I had come to evil genius over a year ago and experienced the first room (Occam's apartment) and finally got the chance to experience the second room this week. The Norcross gallery was exhilarating. The room was well lit and intricately thought out with a strong through line narrative leading the clue solver racing against time.
As was the case with the first room at evil genius, the clues are challenging and, hence, rewarding when solved. The levels of anxiety and nerves reach all time highs in the last twenty minutes or so. My blood pressure was through the roof. I am told a third, related room is scheduled to open this summer. What a day all three could make!

I cant imagine the countless hours that went into the planning and designing of this escape room. The intricacies of the clues and the path to discovering them left me wondering if we were smart or lucky(I'm betting smart). The details of decor, sound design, plot and clue complexity made this a fully engaging and tremendously thrilling experience. I highly recommend this escape room and am excited for the next room to open

We did the Back to Back experience at Evil Genius and it was amazing! We had a big group (8 people) so we split up and played boys vs. girls with the boys playing Episode 1 first and as they were playing Episode 2 the girls started playing Episode 1 (the girls won btw). This is a fully immersive experience. In episode 1 you really feel like you could be in a apartment, the attention to detail from the empty Chinese food containers to the used looking furniture was great. In both rooms they did a really good job of using the space and the things you would normally find in those spaces to give you clues and locks, which was really great. Everything you did felt like it was part of the story and they did a good job tying it all together. The transition was really one of the best parts for us. It really gets your blood racing and they use the space in such a unique way that really ties the two rooms together. Also the team here is so great. Patrick was really helpful in getting our games all set up and even stuck around after to talk with us about their concept and escape rooms in general. As a group that has done quite a few escape rooms in LA (20+) we would highly recommend Evil Genius as one of our favorites. We will be back to play the morgue!

Amazing! I've done about 15 rooms in LA and this one makes one of the best, original puzzles very well thought out. What I like most is the level of imersion in this game you really do fell like part of the story. You seriously need to try it out regardless if you're and experienced or beginner. Can't wait to try the other chapters !!! MUST TRY

Came here to do Chapter 3: The Morgue and we were very impressed.
I have always heard great things about Evil Genius but never got around to trying them. Well we finally got around to it and are so glad we did.

The Morgue Room had great elements of tech and involved puzzles that we had never seen before! The theme of the room was consistent through out and the decor was high quality and visually appealing. We were kept on our toes the whole time and enjoyed all the puzzles.

Customer service was great as well and we look forward to coming back and trying their first 2 chapters!

I've done nigh on 100 rooms, and the back to back to back experience at Evil Genius is perhaps my favorite escape experience ever.

The creativity, puzzles, flow, and storylines are all top notch. Storyline is one of the places a lot of escape rooms fall down, where there's some meaningless back story--you're trapped in a prison and the warden's away for an hour, or your stealing back a stolen piece of art while the thief is out for an hour, or whatever. But Evil Genius has a deep and engaging storyline that continues from Chapter 1 (Occam's Apartment) to Chapter 2 (art gallery) to Chapter 3 (the morgue). It really ratchets up the engagement. On top of that, there are some great touches and transitions that really make it feel more realistic and create a fantastic sense of urgency as you are playing the games.

If you've done a few escape rooms before, I highly encourage you to get a group of 4 or 5 friends together and do the back to back to back experience where you do all 3 rooms over the course of 3.5 hours or so. This is such a great concept, and to me is the ultimate way to experience Evil Genius.

As the rooms progress, they get more difficult and creepier. The last room is extremely challenging, and we did not get out in time, but the kindly gamemasters gave us a good 15 extra minutes to finish which was much appreciated. It's always more satisfying to complete a game than not.

On top of it all, Evil Genius is run by a young family...when I was there on a Saturday, it was a brother, sister, and fiance of the brother running the whole shebang. The brother was the designer or at least one of the designers. They were clearly all in their 20s. Love to see young people working hard and doing great things! Keep up the great work!

Shout out to Mr Giggles!

We had the best time doing Evil Genius Escape Rooms back to back! If you can afford the time, I'd highly recommend it. It was so fun to see how the story carried on to the next room. Love how your time carries on to both rooms. So if you make it out early from the first room, you can add that time to the second room. Both rooms were excellent quality and theming! Highly recommend.

We completed both rooms back-to-back - and they have a unique double booking experience!

The two rooms combined into one experience means that you will be treated to sound/sight/smell elements combined with puzzle solving all in this two-hour span. I don't want to spoil the transition but it was a blast...and we really felt immersed in the storyline. You have two hours total so if you complete the first one in under an hour it is added to the second room.

These were escape room 95 and 96 for us...and our other 2 players have done over 40 escape rooms...so a relatively experienced group.

Both rooms were fun with all the puzzles made sense - no weird logic leaps. Our group of 4 completed Chapter 1 in 41 minutes (which gave us one hour 19 minutes for Chapter 2); but then we completed Chapter 2 in 50 minutes. We didn't need any hints for either chapter - which I attribute to the elegant puzzle designs which alway left us with clear unambiguous answers. But Chapter 2 is definitely more challenging.

The two rooms each provide a different experience and the puzzles are immersive for the storyline.

And its the integrated experience which really has this venue near the top of our all-time list. We have done many rooms back to back but never integrated like Occam's apartment.

Patrick the game master (and designed) was terrific...even though we needed no hints he has an immersive set up to get you into the first room.

Evil Genius is a superior puzzle room experience, thoughtfully designed and passionately presented. Patrick, one of the founders, explained that the company wanted to create an immersive, episodic experience that would give participants the thrill of being thrust into an adventure story without necessarily being stressed by performance in puzzle solving. The story revolves around the titular Evil Genius, whose diabolical plans must be discoverend and thwarted by the players. The narrative currently comprises two chapters, which our group of three played as a continuous, two-hour experience. We began by searching the apartment of a dead detective (Occam's Apartment) and later looked for clues in an art gallery (Norcross Art Gallery). The overall experience featured compelling immersive details, with story characters appearing on video screens and portrayed by the game masters on-site. The puzzles were traditional and favored low-tech, but solid. Our group had some difficulty with scavenging but the game masters kept us on track. I look forward to trying later chapters of the Evil Genius mystery on future trips to LA.

This place has it going on! So well thought out, planned and executed! i don't want to give away much more than that because the details to the experience and puzzles are that great! It seems that the owners have put a lot of love into this and i'm so excited to come back when the Evil Genius has his Museum room up and running.
