Between the view, and the history, it is still worth a visit in this COVID era. You are allowed to roam the grounds although the beautiful interior is not available to the public at this time. Still recommend.

The views are great, but the scientific exhibits were the better surprise for me. This is an actual functional observatory, not just a pretty building. And the exhibits are engaging, even if you're not an astronomy buff.

What I like best about the observatory is it some example of classic art deco architecture. It's got some cool gadgets inside and it is a fantastic view of Los Angeles. And there are many occasions. The only time I didn't enjoy it when it was closed for renovations some 15 years ago. If you're in the area go see it but I wouldn't break your neck trying to get there are there lots of things to do in Los Angeles

I've never had a bad day at the Observatory. If you have the time, hike up the mountain instead of driving!
