I thought I was headed to a rooftop bar but instead it was a view of LA from inside the pool area. The service was good but at times a but slow, as I think lunch to dinner shifts were changing. The menu was limited but we found a few items like the Charcuterie Board which was good, and the Oysters. So Sky Bar at the Mondrian is not really a rooftop bar as the name would imply - it is on the ground floor of the hotel but still offers great views of LA. We were recommended this bar by a local and were very glad we took his advice! We visited on a Sunday and (annoyingly!) just missed out on the bottomless mimosas brunch but decided to stay for lunch. Got a great table by the windows with great views. Service was just ok, but definitely not uppety like some other guests have experienced, just a bit lazy. The door staff were incredibly friendly. There were people buzzing from the brunch, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Music was playing and there were people relaxing by the pool. The mood of the place was great. We ordered the club sandwich which was excellent - the side salad was to die for - and the chicken salad. The salad itself was very good but unfortunately for my friend, was topped with parmesan which she hates (it didn't say so on the menu). She ate it anyway :) We really enjoyed our brief visit to the Sky Bar and would definitely go back when in LA - this time for the brunch!…

We went on a Thursday when the vibe was quite chilled - recommended by the doorman at the chateau marmont and he wasn’t wrong. Gorgeous views, chilled out vibe around the oool and great cocktails. The perfect place to sit, chill and chat with friends or lovers Loved it!
