About
The Original Farmers Market has been Los Angeles’ favorite destination since 1934. With more than 100 old-world grocers, an eclectic array of shops and dozens of restaurants serving cuisine from around the globe in an al fresco setting, the Market is a beloved town square for locals and one of the city’s top tourist attractions. Known for its variety of cuisine, the Market offers something for every taste - American, Brazilian, Cajun, Chinese, French, Italian, Middle Eastern and more! Many of the businesses have been family-owned and operated for generations. Recently the Market had added a variety of artisan grocery and specialty food merchants this year including organic, seasonal produce, gourmet pickles, single origin coffee and more! The Market strictly adheres to all Los Angeles County Covid-19 protocols.

I highly recommend the Original Farmers Market for the sheer variety of food stalls, mixed with artisanal shops, produce stands, and a newsstand, a fine toy shop, and lots of nice vendors. It’s got a lot of character and charm. Good places to eat are Pampas Grill (Brazilian churrasco), Banana Leaf (Singaporean cuisine), a crepe place, another place that serves banana bread. The great thing is that it is right next to the Groves shopping center. Parking here isn’t cheap but if you purchase from any vendor, you can get a validated parking ticket for free 90 mins parking.

The farmers market offers all kinds of shops and restaurants. Noodle Art was our big favorite. But there are also burgers, Mexican, salad bar and much more.
Parking is easy in the parking lots, especially in the slightly further away parking lots was always enough space. If you buy something in a restaurant or shop, you can have your parking ticket stamped. You can ride it out for free. When you enter, you can grab a leaflet if you want, listing all the shops/restaurants.

The Original Farmer's Market and Grove was merely our lunch stop on an "All Day" LA bus tour we took, but it ended up being the highlight of the tour.

When you're in LA, you experience a lot of glitz and glam in a largely urban setting; going to the OG Farmer's Market is a very different experience. It is an oasis of casual dining, shopping and congregating, like a small bazaar within the busy confines of LA.

The market is larger than we expected, and we spent a good 30 minutes perusing our dining options. In the end we went for the pasta at "Pasta Corner" and it was awesome. Just because the Market is outdoors and has a chaotic "outdoor food court" layout, don't sleep on the quality; they have some really authentic and tasty options. After you grab your food, you can grab a soft-drink or alco-beverage at one of the bars then find a place to sit in one of the many seating areas. Most of it is shaded so no need to worry about overexposure or being too hot.

If you're in the mood for something more formal or upscale, just a few steps from the Market is "The Grove" shopping mall. The Grove is a very bougie shopping center that has nice fountains, a really neat outdoor bar and lots of high-end restaurants.

1 hour is not enough time to explore the OG Market itself, or the Grove (and certainly not both of them), so we would like to go back and spend a 1/2 day there to really dig deeper into the options they have to offer.

We popped over here after visiting the Grove on the recommendation of our tour guide. The Original Farmers Market was pretty interesting, there is a lot of food options here and a handful of shopping spots. It is primarily I think a good spot to get some food if you are at the Grove, but I don't know if I would make a special trip for just this market. You can find food for every type of person, but you should try a pickle sampler if you enjoy those, that was fun and tasty.

Disappointed.
Thought this would be a great place to visit.
The actual farmers market is a relatively small selection of food shops and cafes.
The history of the place is interesting.
But tacked onto it is yet another shopping mall....
This has obviously created parking problems.
So much so that you get 90 minutes free, as long as you get your ticket validated at the market. But..... after that it is $12 per hour!!!!!!
Why should you pay a ridiculous parking fee to go and eat there when there are so many eating places in LA with free parking.
Or you have the choice of looking round and eating within 90 minutes of free parking.......
It should be that you get free parking if you eat there....full stop......
For this reason alone I wouldn't go again, which is a shame because the food we had was good......

Came to Dewy Flowers to pick up a succulent as a gift and parked at the Farmer’s Market lot. Big mistake, I was in and out in 30 mins and was charged $10.50 that is already 1/4 the cost of my plant. Ridiculous parking price. I feel robbed.

Beautiful location, there are many shops of any kind and the Point of Sale with stalls and restaurants that offer a lot of choice. Tacos, pizza, fruit, fish, ethnic food, ice cream, doughnuts, all at a more than fair price considering the fact that you're in Los Angeles. Really nice place to spend a day of Shopping.

The farmers market is particularly beautifully decorated at Christmas time. I was there for dinner in the evening. The food from the French crepe stand was great. The overall atmosphere and Christmas lighting was also great. The worst disappointment, however, was the impossibly unfriendly lady at the parking barrier. I had forgotten to validate my parking pond while eating in the restaurant. 90 minutes are free with validation. There was now a long line of vehicles behind me at the barrier. The lady at the barrier saw my ticket with the entry time and the receipt from the restaurant. It was no use. I had to walk all the way back to the restaurant past honking cars and get my ticket validated. This took at least 8 minutes. The cars in line that were behind me may have had to pay extra. It would have been easier to just open the barrier. I would not recommend anyone to ever park in the parking lot. It is better to park opposite the Wohle Foods supermarket.

This is a fun place to visit in Los Angeles. It is best to do so for a meal, but it could be any time. It is also great to do with a large group like we had with 12. Everyone can get something different and then come together to enjoy at a common table.

On our lunch visit, my wife and I got chicken tenders, but our group had sandwiches, burgers, pizza and salads. Then you can do it all over again for dessert as there is cookies, ice cream, doughnuts, fudge, caramel and so much more. For me, the only downside is too much choice that you can get sensory overload.

This kind of is the original food court, perfect for people watching. Talking about people watching, the other thing the market is known for is surrounding TV studio's looking for talent, so you never know who you will see.

In total, it is a fun stop and a chance to enjoy a wide variety of food. Again, we had 12 people, and it was one of the favorites in our group

What a great place to eat and shop for exotic foods. There were so many types of delicious looking foods to choose from, I could have spent a week there just sampling the fare from different vendors. We only went to old original part of the market due to time constraints. Be sure to visit Marcels' store!
