About
The century-old canals within this iconic L.A. district recreate the dreamy landscape of the Italian city of Venice. Stroll along the waterside walkway and stop along the picture-perfect bridges. You’ll spot ducks, tiny boats, and historic houses along the way. Kids will enjoy the playground at Linnie Canal Park. While the neighborhood is quiet and family-friendly, parking in the area can be challenging if you get there later in the day. The Venice Canals Walkway is just a few blocks from the busy Venice waterfront, where you can stop for lunch, browse the shops, and relax by the beach. – Tripadvisor

Neighbourhood: Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.

Great walk about to see the lovely houses along the canals
You seen it in many movies and shows and it really is very quaint and unique. A real mix of architecture and styles of houses with many bridges. It is about a 15 min walk from the main Venice beach boardwalk and access is limited so check your map. There is a bit of garbage along the canal and a bit smelly at spots. Overall, we enjoyed the walk through the area.

    Charming area
Charming homes along the canals in a quaint area. Interesting architecture and gardens. Tucked away from the urban jungle. Close to Marina Del Rey and funky Venice Beach.

Interesting to walk past if you are in the area
Beautiful and unique area to walk through to see some interesting canals, gardens and architecture. This is a residential area so be mindful not to get in the way of local residents. The water is in places a bit 'swampy', it would be better if they cleaned it and got rid of the algae. It doesn't detract from the experience too much though. A short walk away from Venice beach if you are in the area. If you're not anyway going to be in the area it's a bit out of the way to get to and is not really ask essential LA experience compared to other attractions.

It was dirty water, few ducks were there. I pity people living there beside the canal have no privacy at all, we were walking through their yard. Few houses had their own boats. There is a bridge where we can take photos.

A fun place to walk. They are famous and in many films. You can see the upscale houses as well as ducks and other water birds.

It’s a beautiful place with beautiful houses. Calm and quiet, a relaxing walk nearby Venice Beach. Some places to park for free around the streets.

The Venice canals were one of the most picturesque urban environs that we have visited in the United States. It was a pleasure to wander around this lovely neighborhood (it is tucked behind some busy non-descript streets) and enjoy its peace and quiet.

A nice walk to have while in the area. Several bridges to walk on and take some pictures. Leave about 30 minutes for this.

Don't be fooled by the pictures, this place is not worth visiting. Its not horrible but ther ee just isn't anything special about the Canals and the drive to get to the Canals seems to go through some dodgy streets.
