I have attended a handful of performances at this club and highly recommend it. The atmosphere is unchanged for decades including the posters covering the walls. The potatoes are excellent and filling! Best of all is the music. This is a place where you can see world class musicians for a very reasonable cost in a locale where they are relaxed... More

This location is a MUST for every serious Jazzrock and Fusion fan. All the major Jazz/Fusion musicians do play here. You can see and meet amazing world class players in a unique atmosphere. And don't forget to order one of the great baked potato dishes.

We erred in choosing a night in which music was far from being jazz. Our second time at the club proved bad enough to walk out. Avoid the Showcase nights as it tends to presents third rate musicians who pack the club with tolerant friends and families. Between a Brit singing country and a wanna be James Taylor we felt... Got a chance to hear Josh Smith and Friends on the 1st of the month and they were smokin'! The perfect place to unwind, let your hair down and relax with a drink and/or feast on one of their mutant baked potatoes! You have never seen potatoes so huge and topped with just about anything you can dream up! I... More

World class players in a very old fashioned jazz club.. The bar is a dive, next to a liquor store, street parking, and a ladies' room one-step above a porta-john, but we are used to going out in Detroit so not a deal breaker. We came for the music and it did not disappoint. Being able to have dinner was... More

We had driven by this bar several times on trips to SoCal, intrigued by the name we finally decided to check it out on this visit. We were pleasantly surprised. There was a jazz group playing, they seemed impromptu but were doing a fabulous job. The menu looked very interesting but we came after dinner so we will have to... More

Every time I come to LA, I gotta stop by the Baked Potato. I've seen Mike Brecker, Bob Mintzer, and even stood 2 feet away from Dave Grusin here. All the LA jazzers, when they have a night off, can be seen here in the informal up-close Bake Potato environs. Sure it's loud... it's LA. I come here for the... More

Loved everything about the place... the vibe, the service, the potatoes... the drinks were nothing to write home about but enjoyable. The music was fantastic. Overall we had a great time. What I can't understand is why someone felt it was necessary to mic up a 3 piece band when the audience is no more than 15 feet away. The... More
