Nice hike

A bit crowded on a weekend but some sections are still secluded, in a shade through the woods ... great views.

Some challenging pieces if hot and lots of easy sections. After visiting the rock I did the loop and then wandered down other trails, is was so nice. Views are amazing. Will be back asap. The loop involves a ridge trail that is exposed to the sun but the views are excellent and you can sit on a rock overlooking... More

One of the best perches along south Skyline (Highway 35) from which to view the San Lorenzo Valley and Monterey Bay. Terrific rock formations for climbing, and avid climbers know it. Lovely waterfall a quarter mile down the hill, and backpack campground a couple miles in, best time to visit is Jan-May (after which it can be really hot). Parking... More

This is a beautiful park with various hiking trails from easy to moderate. The trail heads are all up and down Skyline Blvd. So if the main park is crowded head down the road a bit farther and pick a less traveled trail.

Beautiful walk, although slightly sloshy just now. Castle rock is a sight to behold and there are lots of wildflowers poking up their heads. Weekdays are better of course and parking is available for free on highway 35.

Light hiking to Castle & Goat Rock areas, then WOW a great place to learn & practice rock climbing skills for 10 to 70 year olds! Beautiful ocean views from top of Castle Rocks.

The climb up to Castle Rock from the parking lot is definitely not handicap accessible. It is not far and for young people an easy climb. When you get to the top, there is not much to look at except a big rock.

Had to park down the road at an overflow lot, and as a result, we went in from the campground side. Second trip there, and it's a beautiful hike. The castle rock formations are interesting, but crowded. We didn't stay too long before we hiked back. We did 8 miles total; very nice trip.

My husband and I went on a hike in Castle Rock State Park. It is a beautiful place. We parked along the road as the parking lot was closed. They were working on the bathroom, so stop at a bathroom before you get there. We hiked part of the Saratoga Gap trail and then back on the Ridge Trail. We... More

Lovely trails and views. Great for running or hiking. Go for a 12 miler or just to go watch rock climbers. Easy to get to from either Saratoga on Highway 9, coming from Boulder Creek or via Black road to Skyline.
