Manhattan Beach is clean and quiet. Soft sand for California. Beach volley ball and surfing area. Nice place to walk along the ocean.

This place in December isn't crowded. The view is nice and the sand looks clean. I would recommend people coming here in December so enjoy some alone time!

I am a local, but encourage visitors and locals alike to get out and enjoy Paradise in the city. Early evening power walk and jog then cool down as you watch the amazing sunset along the strand or at the beach. It is always amazingly...More

Gorgeous beach with lots of great eating options a few mins walk away. We cycled from Marina del Rey which took about an hour.

Amazing beach, great waves and a nice coffee shop on the pier that serves iced Coffee in cold glass jars for a morning at the beach. Kids can learn to surf on these waves.

I took a walk to Manhattan Beach after my 12 hour flight from Auckland, NZ. It was a nice way to unwind from the flight. At the beach, there is a pier, bathrooms, volley ball court and it is protected by life guards.

40 minutes to an hour. Depending on traffic. Uber is available at reasonable rates. Best to go late morning to avoid rush hour traffic.

Yep, it's called the ocean express. Easy to get tickets; your concierge will have them available.

Manhattan Beach is perfect: close enough to LAX so that you're not afraid to miss a flight due to LA's traffic jams, yet it feels like a small town. October is great, lots of preparations for Halloween so it's fun and fresh... More
