My favorite local bookstore for talks, author signings, and just wandering around looking at books

This is a Menlo Park establishment! I don't usually buy books new, but when I do, I make sure I come here to support their business. They have author talks and book signings, and they are also very happy to order a book for you if they don't have it in stock. The back corner is a wonderland for kids,... More

Every time I visit the SF Bay Area, I make sure to visit Kepler's too - here I managed to find books that I could not find anywhere else, and in addition they always have copies signed by the author for a lot of books. This is really paradise for a book lover.

What is there not to love? Rows upon rows of book club selections, piquing my interest and verifying the density of literary passion in this richly intellectual community. I love the staff recommendations shelves. I love the children's books section. I love the spiffy new black-and-white linoleum. I love the greeting cards. I love the printed canvas shopping bags. I... Kepler's is a wonderful small independent bookstore. Staff is knowledgeable and eager to recommend titles. I make a point of buying a book every time I go in. Small gems like this need all the support they can get in this age of e-books! Go buy a book and sit outside at Barrones next door with a cup of coffee!

If you're visiting the Bay Area and want a fun, informative evening, stop by Kepler's for one of their many free talks with contemporary authors. Most talks are free but you can support this great independent bookstore by buying the authors' books (which they usually sign) or picking up another one of the great books they have in stock. Make... More

This is a great bookstore with a helpful and knowledgeable staff. Even when looking for a specific title it's so much nicer to browse Kepler's expansive shelves than to order online.

Just when I thought all my holiday shopping was done, I had the opportunity to visit Kepler's. What a treat! The best selection and great help! It's packed full of books on things you didn't know you needed and I even fount a book to teach my Nephew Cam how to use Python programming to score in Minecraft (his favorite... More
