As County museums go Merced is average but educational. They put on a lovely open house for Christmas with many area groups decorating trees that are displayed throughout the museum.

This should be included in any road trip through California's gold country. A fun afternoon to spend a few hours.

It's a cool little place with very nice staff. It gives you good insight on Merceds development and different things that happened in the valley. Not a very large museum.
