Visited with expectations of my wife having a fun time shopping at many interesting shops. Extremely disappointed! They were either very expensive or tourist trap trinkets shops. Cafes and fast food places were filthy. When we wanted to get a bite to eat, we walked...More

Love the history and sites on Cannery Row. Lots of places to eat and spend money on souvenirs. Most everything is high priced; which is expected in Monterey anyway.

If your idea of a great vacation involves fudge shops and junk food don't miss this spot. You might even hit the jackpot with more than one tour bus disgorging passengers.

There are lots of stores here, but very touristy. Better than the wharf, but I expected better of Monterey. The aquarium is probably your best bet.

No where near the same amount. Fishermans wharf is full of outside restaurants attracting the birds. No where near the same problem you should be fine.
