A lovely place to walk along the coast line spotting sea otters and sea lions, The views are superb. Ps. keep alert for the selfish halfwits that cycle at lunatic speeds on the footpaths. I am surprised that there are not more accidents.

Lots to do in Monterey from museums and the aquarium to riding the red trail and shopping. Everyone should visit this historical place

Loved visiting Monterey Bay and will definitely be back again. May favorite was Lover's Point Beach - it was protected from the wind, not too busy and had lots of character.

This magical deep-water bay has an abundance of marine life, much of which is available to shoreline observers. Whales and various marine mammals are in abundance and one can observe sea otters and seals and sea lions up close from the various wharves or ocean...More

Go to Cannery Row. It is a street full of stores, restaurants and nice hotel. There is also an aquarium that is worth the visit

Ton's to do and the weather is mostly cool year round. Can be rainy in January though. 17 Mile drive is awesome, Lover's point, Cannery Row, the Aquarium was packed last month but was a weekend.

Hello Julie, I believe April is a good time as they start their migration back from sea of Cortez to Alaska. They get very close to the Monterey coast to feed. Hope that helps. Safe travels, Raj

Can't answer this definitively but we went whale watching late August and saw Blue whales, Hump Backs and Fin Whales which are apparently very rare.
