Had a nice late afternoon stroll here- nice place to have dinner since there are a lot of good establishments to choose from. you can just hang around or browse through stores, or just try to catch glimpses of sealions lying on buoys along the wharf.

Great outdoor walk on the peir. We loved seeing the boats docked in the marina, fisherman and at the end of the peir we could see seals on the rocks. Bring binoculars, better to see.

Absolutely gorgeous views of the ocean and wildlife. Lots of great restaurants (some pet friendly/Domenico's) to choose from and shops to grab a souvenier. I even bought a cute zip up fleece for under $15 because my wind breaker was accidentally left at home. Easy walking and store vendors are very friendly.

Lots of places to eat and shop but the best things are free, just stroll along the wharf and take in the sea air and sights. We were there on a Sunday and it was rather busy, traffic being an issue. We passed by the next day (Monday) when traffic was far lighter, suggesting the wharf would have been quieter.

In ages past, I would walk this wharf between college classes just to unwind and breathe in the salt air. The wharf had a certain hum to it. The fish merchants, the stores, or the bustle of eateries; all added to the sound of Fisherman's wharf. I need to go back and remember better times.

Another tourist trap in Monterey. Several restaurants on a pier, all of them expensive and then you have all the souvenir shops...

We enjoy just taking our time walking on the wharf and watching the people. It hasn't changed much through the years and there are lots of fun shops open and of course every restaurant has the best clam chowder and samples are free. You be the judge.

The standard souvenir shops but lots of good eats. Colorful. Accessible. Suck it up and overlook the negatives. Worth it.
