Spent some time with kids aged 4-11, and everyone enjoyed it. I saw plenty of older kids playing nicely with younger kids here, too. Lots of tween and teen older siblings--and there was stuff for them to enjoy, too. Nicely laid out, plenty of variety,...More

Views are nice: partially surrounded by water, a peak at the ocean, & the grounds themselves are nice. The layout is pleasant to wander through. Lots for kids to climb & explore. Relaxing places for adults to sit. Free & well worth it.

Loved the park and it had LOADS to do for the kids. It had a wide variety of play structures for kids catering to all the different age groups.

Advertised in the Lonely Planet book as a 'Kick-A' park with lightening fast slides and towering climbing walls I was sorely disappointed. Yes, it is slightly better than an average play park but 'kick-a' it is not! The slides are as fast as a snail...More

Lots of fun things to do in this park. A large steam train on entrance is a great photo opportunity. It is stationary so no rides! Good historical feature though. Refreshments stand offers cheap sweets, hot food and snow cones. Free parking. Clean toilets. Easy...More

Wow, what a great location this Dennis The Menace Park is. Right across the street from the beach and our hotel The Montery Bay Lodge. Food trucks and paddle boats were perfect for us ! The kids ran themselves silly for hours !

After a day at the Cannery Row area, we spotted the park whilst driving back to the hotel. It's off the Main Street and cannot be missed. There are many birds including ducks, geese and huge seagulls that wander around. However it isn't very well...More

We brought our 3 year old grandson, who had a blast. There are slides of all sizes and shapes, and many things to climb on. Bridges and tunnels, too. Don't expect to sit on a bench and watch. The park is expansive, and you need...More

It's been a while since we have been there, as last time we visted Monterey our kids were already older. However, I remember the park as pretty big with lots of play-structures and equipment for younger children. It's a good place to let them run...More

Heaps to do, but you seriously have to follow your kid close. It's massive and always really packed .

I am sorry I can't answer this question. I know that there is a "leash" law in effect for the City of Monterey. As to whether you can bring your pet, you need to ask the city.
