Usually crowded but not this time of year. Mornings were beautiful, however about noon each day the winds kicked up pretty good, then about 6 pm it all calms down again. A little chilly when that happens so bring clothes for all times of the year. It's about 10 min. From the embarcadero, driving. Helpful tip make your reservations well... More

On a whim, we decided to take our teardrop trailer to Morro Bay for an overnite. We got "the last" site at this state beach on-line (do reserve!). While the parking lot atmosphere of the camp ground was unusual, the proximity to the best walking beach ever, the restrooms and amenities, where great! We had a site(#23) that had both... More

From Morro Rock to Cayucos pier lies 6 miles of wide, sandy unspoiled beach. In the middle of that stretch is Morro Strand State Beach. Camping, para sailing, surfing, swimming, sand castle building, bird and whale watching are all common activities on or near this state beach. But a long, meditative walk on firm sand with very few other sojourners... More

Great place to check out Tidal Pools - make sure to check the tidal charts so you can visit in low tide when everything is exposed. Safe travels and Aloha!

We eat here at least once a week when in the area. Love the all you can eat chips and salsa bar. You can get an open faced taco for $7. They also have HUGE burritos filled with incredibly fresh and taste fresh seafood, chicken, or beef. We share and leave stuffed. Prepare to wait if you come at noon... More

The beach was deserted because it was March and the water was freezing! However, my husband and kids did not care! They played anyway and built sandcastles.

This was a friend and family reunion with 5 couples. We booked early but didn't realize you could get 2 spots and use a longer RV. It worked out great and the camp host Rick was very helpful. The view was beautiful of the Morro rock to the south. We saw otters playing off the beach. The reservation system for... More

We took a picnic down here and had a great day. The water was frigid even in June, but we got in anyway. Bring a wetsuit. The sand was clean, scenery is beautiful, and we had a great sunset view in the afternoon. The waves were great for boogie-boarding.

A wide sandy beach with direct access to the surf. Parking is adequate. Lots of fun to see kite surfers, conventional surfers and for kids to play in the sand.

This is hidden treasure and I ask that you don't tell anyone about this spot as we want to return to this hideout. Reception at the little entrance box was a real experience. The lady greeting us was a total energy person who greeted us with incredible joy. Truly a person who is living in a the ideal job and... More
