Fun in the Sun!

The beach was deserted because it was March and the water was freezing! However, my husband and kids did not care! They played anyway and built sandcastles.

This was a friend and family reunion with 5 couples. We booked early but didn't realize you could get 2 spots and use a longer RV. It worked out great and the camp host Rick was very helpful. The view was beautiful of the Morro rock to the south. We saw otters playing off the beach. The reservation system for... More

We took a picnic down here and had a great day. The water was frigid even in June, but we got in anyway. Bring a wetsuit. The sand was clean, scenery is beautiful, and we had a great sunset view in the afternoon. The waves were great for boogie-boarding.

A wide sandy beach with direct access to the surf. Parking is adequate. Lots of fun to see kite surfers, conventional surfers and for kids to play in the sand.

This is hidden treasure and I ask that you don't tell anyone about this spot as we want to return to this hideout. Reception at the little entrance box was a real experience. Great beach with lots of rocks, shells and birds and very few people. Mind you were there in March! The weather was lovely and warm. We did not test the water.

Great beach for strolling along by yourself, with your pooch and of course your sweetheart. Watch the surfers, check out the wildlife whatever you like. Or just chill and ponder your existence staring at the Pacific Ocean.

Pros: nearly as scenic as Kauai, Hawaii. Trail heads easily accessible Plenty of free parking Minutes from civilization but secluded too One trail and beach dog friendly with leash Many easy trails to select from Facilities at the head of each trail Cons: Nearly every trail is NOT dog friendly but one. No directions to the dog friendly beach/trail.

This is a quaint beach without a lot of people. The view of the Morro Rocks and the whole beach is simply stunning. There are small sand dunes that our son enjoy very much.

Morro Strand State Beach is probably one of the best kept secrets on the California coast. An endless stretch of clean sand with a multitude of places to put down a beach blanket and relax in the sun. Good place for the family to play in the sand, have a beach picnic, and enjoy the native birds that scurry along... More
