This is a gentle boat ride through Elkhorn Slough, but dont think it's boring! We saw harbor seals, sea lions, nesting cormorants, LOTS of otters, and LOTS of different birds. We aren't birders, but we learned a lot about the local feathered friends. The captain...More

This should be the number one destination for anyone visiting the Monterey area or Big Sur. You will see more sea otters in one hour than you might see the rest of your life. And you will be close enough to count their whiskers. You...More

If you are in the Monterey, CA area, and particularly if you're with kids, don't miss this opportunity! You get on a flat boat, like a party boat, with maybe 30 people, a captain and a very verbal "guide." You glide thru this slough and...More

The best part of the trip is the knowledgeable naturalist who accompanies you. We saw lots of wildlife, but more importantly learned a lot.

I have lived in the Santa Cruz area for 5 years now and have been on all the ocean field trips and kayaking with my kids. I thought I had seen and known it all about the Elkhorn Slough wildlife (sea lions, harbor seals, otters,...More

Does this boat stay in the slough? After whale watching, I don't think my stomach can take another bouncy boat! :)

I wouldnt think a drizzle would be a problem...we have taken it when the air was damp, but came prepared. They are always prepared, so even if you are not they will take care of you!
