I stopped by here after whale watching from Moss Landing. It's a very pleasant place with easy walks to enjoy. I took the 2-mile South Marsh Loop and enjoyed seeing both shorebirds (Marbled Godwit, Whimbrel, Willet, Greater Yellowlegs,) ducks (Cinnamon Teal, Green-Winged Teal, Hooded Merganser,)...More

Loved this place. The guides were so helpful and full of knowledge. Didn’t see any otters but saw lots of sea birds and they have great walking trails.

Book a trip with Elkhorn slough Safari to learn about the slough. Fabulous. Very cold so bundle up. Lots of otters, birds, seals, and sea lions. You will learn so much.

A few well maintained trails lead off of the small visitor center. Could easily spend a few hours walking around, lots of great places to spot wildlife.

The best spot is just off the highway by Moss Landing. The Slough is more suited for walking on a boardwalk and looking for small marsh birds. There will be sea otters, seals and numerous shorebirds around Moss Landing.
