We stopped for maybe a half hour visit en route from San Francisco to Monterey; an unexpected gem. Watched small flocks of sandpipers and plovers enjoying the surf. Saw a sea otter snoozing in a cove. Enjoyed digging our toes into the sand. Beautiful beach, easily accessible. Stop here if you are nearby - you'll love it.

This place never becomes old for me. Just an hour away from San Jose, I go there every weekend. It is a relatively unspoiled beach, so let's hope everyone keeps it that way

This is an easy stop right off highway 1, though it can be a bit rough getting out if you are heading south after. There is no fee and we found plenty of parking. There are bathrooms at the end of the road. We saw many types of birds, harbor seals and sea otters. Right when you pull in you... More

Good surf beach for a walk. If you look around the inlet before the beach there are Seals and Sea Otters. Worth a look

This place is teaming with otters. Seriously. We saw 20 in the water and probably another 15 on land. They were doing all their ottery things-- swimming, playing, sleeping (even pooping!). You can get close to them-- about 10 feet above them on a bluff, so there is no worry about disturbing them, but yet you can watch from nearby.

This is the best place to view sea otters, they hang out here during the day in large groups floating around sleeping. They even come up on the beach and lay in the sun. You can just sit and watch them. Lots of water birds also. If coming from Monterey you have to go past the road to moss landing... More

Watching playful sea otters in their natural habitat was a wonderful experience. The cove is protected by a large sand dune where the otters sleep/play. A must see with young kids

This was a a off the beaten track where there are harbour seals and Sea Otters to view, in their environment without too many tourists.
