This was a nice excursion for the family though $17/person was a bit expensive. It was ‘an average’ of the all the others we’ve seen. The lighting within the cave could have been better. Jerry (tour guide) was entertaining.

Tyler was so funny! And very knowledgeable about the history of the cave. It was my first time in a cave and I feel like I learned a lot. There were 8 of us in our group and I wouldn’t recommend going with more than...More

I noticed some of the sour reviews had a lot to do with lack of preparation and not understanding why it's not a good idea to bring things like purses, etc in to the cave. You'll lose them for sure! Can you imagine the lawsuits?...More

Very impressed with the tour. Beautiful formations. Very steep and hard on old knees, but well worth the trip.

We came here 4 years ago. The story line and formations are well worth a second look. The climb down was pretty easy. Up is going to be a little more difficult. 16 stories. Not that difficult, but you can feel it. I'd do it...More

It was awesome. Recommend closed toed shoes, and to be in shape. You descend and ascend several flights of narrow and awkward stairs. Must be mindful and careful as you take in the breathtaking stalagmites and stalactites.

The Mercer Caverns was a nice break from the summer heat and since Yosemite was closed all week for fires it was a good escape from the smoke that filled the mountains. We had read some reviews about the guides being less-than-friendly, but our experience...More

Fun and interesting tour to see some spectacular caverns. We only had to wait a few minutes to start our tour. This is not a tour to bring small children or those who cannot do stairs and you cannot bring a service dog down, as...More

Always wanted to visit caverns in California and we made it this time. The tour happened every half an hour and they took 10-12 people every time. This could make you wait for more than an hour over weekend, so plan accordingly. Inside the cavern...More

As others have said, especially your shoes. Be sure your laces are tucked in. No toeless shoes or sandals. Don't wear a hat. The spaces are not tall so tall folks will have a hard time. Steep stairs. But what a view... More

Better not, cause stairs are stiffs and slippery. My advice is to have laces shoes as sneakers on.
