Fun Time

Light on education and formality, heavy on the fun and pouring. Lots of samples - easy to sip the day away. The caves are pretty cool, but don't expect anything super classy.

Underground in Napa Valley's second oldest tunnels hand dug in 1885, our guide and wine thief, Todd, entertained us with stories, as he allowed us to compare wine, aging side-by-side in French and American oak barrels. We also tasted wine aging in wood sourced from different forests, toasted differently. We sampled really good wines, that I have never seen sold... More

It is a very pretty place inside but found it to feel "stuffy". The wine tasting was expensive but they did provide a nice cheese tray. Our wine educator was very friendly.

We were in San Francisco for a few days and didn't have time for the full 'Wine Country Experience' this time, so we chose Del Dotto in Napa for it's location and barrel tasting. The Napa location is not a 'destination vineyard' but once inside, our guide was knowledgeable and a lot of fun without being overeager to sell. The... More

This wine tour is unique in that you are tasting wines direct from the barrel that haven't been bottled yet. Of all the tastings we did this was also the most informative. Wines were delicious and you get sone food (pizza, charcuterie, olive oil)at the end which is nice. The only disappointment is that most wineries will comp the tasting... More

We took the wine cave and barrel tasting tour. It's great for those who have been there/done that with winery tours. It goes beyond the basic "this is how wine is made" tour. Steve was very knowledgeable and highly entertaining- great dry sense of humor! We got to hear the history of the caves while sampling some delicious reds straight... More

This was our first tour of our trip and came highly recommended from many friends. I am so glad that we decided to take the recommendations. We had such an amazing time and tasted some of the best wines we had in Napa. We did the historical cave barrel tasting. Thank you for such and amazing experience !

I would definitely come here again. I loved visiting inside of the cellar. The Pizza was tasty after a long day of drinking too.

As mentioned, there are two locations and we mistakenly made a reservation at one and showed up at the wrong location. The staff were extremely accommodating at St. Helena and were able to accommodate us for a cave tour. Our guide/host, Tim was so informative, entertaining and made the tour! They are very generous with their tastings and follow it... More

There are two Del Dotto locations in the Napa Valley and this location in Napa highlights one of the six caves hewn out of rock in the 1890's. The barrel tasting tour is worth the money as you will get a good tutorial on wine barrel construction, as well as a wonderful exposure to wines made & produced by the... More
