Heard a lot about this place and the houses and lovely with not two being the same and zero control on what you do when renovating them. The main drag contains a number of boutiques and the mandatory frozen banana stores.

Quaint, cozy, congested, and fun! Arrive with a boatload of patience as traffic, parking, and crowds are often a challenge. Overlook the challenges and have fun. Shop the shops, have lunch, enjoy a frozen banana, and if too crowded hop aboard the Balboa ferry and...More

The drive here can take you 20 minutes each way, or longer. THere can be traffic. You will find take off points for deep sea fishing, long stretches of beaches, often long sidewalks between the houses and the sand/ocean. Many of the restaurants are serving...More

Balboa village is right next to whale watching cruise offices. It is a good place to shop before or after the cruise.
