Me and the Wife wanted a "GetAway" from the Hustle and Bustle of the College and Work life. Being Recent Grads we decided to just stay local and celebrate our latest accomplishment - GRADUATING with our B.A.s! We wanted to have fun, but at the...More

Only got to spend 5 days there this trip but it was great. A lot to do and see at Newport Beach. The restaurants were great. The street festival every Tuesday is worth visiting. Tons of good food and vendors to checkout. Don’t miss visiting...More
We road our bikes from Huntington Beach to Newport Beach and spent the balance of the afternoon walking and shopping in Newport. It was a great way to enjoy the California sun and sand. We walked up and down the boardwalk and spent hours in...More
We stopped to check this place out and found very nice family beach and with good facilities. We just stopped to take a look at this place and it looks to be a great place to spend the day with your family. Paid parking.

44th and River should be just a couple blocks to beach. You should be fine with traffic because it's at the end of the peninsula close to PCH. Then you would maybe bike the alley to the boardwalk (on 38th?! I should know that haha) and you'll be on your way to Newport Pier in no time. Balboa Pier and the Fun zone are just a ways past that. Parking is always a challenge but with patience you should find a spot. Visiting LA, while close, you'll need to avoid rush hour times, but usually its more clear in am going to LA and evening returning from LA than vice versa. Good luck and have fun!
