Sugar bowl has a more affordable lift ticket compared to north star and heavenly. The route are pretty fun but some of the lift, when you’re getting off it. There were some construction tools near by which did cause some fright to beginners. I actually...More

Our first time here. We were lucky enough to come right after the last storm finished, so the snow was decent and I didn't have to do chains. Everyone working here was extremely friendly and helpful. We parked in the village lot and took the...More

Great snow, old world charm, friendly staff and a great ski area. It does have the size of Squaw Valley, but fewer crowds and great grooming, even during a snow challenged year.

While Sugar Bowl is a little smaller than the other big resorts, it has all the advanced terrain anyone could ask for. Great skiing coupled with an overtly friendly atmosphere, and the most snow in Tahoe.

Sugar Bowl is pretty old school in a good way. While a lot of the newer resorts are getting super fancy with big shopping areas in the village SB keeps to the basics. Good terrain and mountains. When it snows SB typically gets the most...More

Thank goodness for man made snow! With only about 1/4 of runs open we were limited, but we knew that when we went there. We still had a fantastic time, and ALL of the resort personnel were super friendly and nice and happy. The rental...More

Up at the top of The Sierras, Sugar Bowl gets the most snow and is the closest and easiest commute to Sac. Not big but really fun with great bowls, cliff skiing, tree skiing, fun terrain parks. Three mountain lodges provide the libations. The best...More

if you look at travel times only Boreal is closer to Folsom than Sugar Bowl. Boreal is not even close to Sugar Bowl in terrain. Sierra Tahoe is actually longer trip time from Folsom, Kirkwood is way out there. and Sugar Bowl has great skiing...More

Its a lot of fun taking the gondola in to the old resort, it feels very nostalgic. The resort itself is in need of an upgrade, but super cute. Good restaurant with mediocre hours :)

PS: the best little mountain up there with easy meandering runs to trees and cliffs, to tough bump runs. Top of the hill, it gets the most snow....snows there when raining at Squaw and so forth. Also, several years back... More
