Great drive in a forest setting. Some great views to be had at Mile High Vista. It's a lot of driving, so we find it's best to combine w/ hiking and/or camping. Lots of beautiful meadows, forests and granite! Cautions: Bring maps! Some bump dirt...More

Amazing vistas and fun places to stop along the byway! The road is bumpy and dusty, which naturally limits the traffic if you are looking for a place without as many people. You must stop at Jones' Store for pie!

It's a long drive and some of it is over a dirt track but well worth the time spent. Amazing views and really quiet away from the traffic at Yosemite.
