This rustic mountain theater sits atop a small hill on the 41 Hwy in Oakhurst. There is plenty of parking and handicap can be let off close to the door. Restrooms are old, but functional. Locals have been putting money and labor into improvements. The theater has an excellent heating system now, but still dress warm in the coldest months.... More

Just here for a weekend and stumbled upon this theater doing one of our favorite musicals-- the Music Man. The building is rustic, but the performances were top notch. Sets were minimal but very effective. The two leads were good imitations of Robert Preston and Shirley Jones, and the little fella that played lisping Winthrop was perfect. Great chorus, and... The Golden Chain Theater is located in Oakhurst, CA, at the north end of the city. The performers are all local residents who come together to perform. Some of the plays are Murder Mysteries, Holiday favorites, and just plain, heartwarming performances. So if you are in the Oakhurst area, and you are looking for something fun to do with the... The talent and the scope of productions for a small community is outstanding. When planning a visit in the Oakhurst area, I would highly recommend checking their schedule and have a wonderful evening with great entertainment.

For a small town, Oakhurst has some great shows available during most of the year on the weekends. What used to be the old bowling alley has been refurbished into a large theater with a bar and snacks available at a nominal cost. The acting is very good, and the musicals are exceptional. We are season ticket holders, and have... More

It was a fun evening at the performance of "The Altos", a mystery dinner play about a "mob" family. The dinner was good, Italian of course, but the play was outstanding. There was a lot of audience participation, and everyone seemed to have a great time. The players were excellent, the interacted perfectly with the attendees. It was a fun... More
