This has a very retro feel that is comforting and that children really love. There is lots of interactive activities and also puppet shows and other entertainments. I like the old-fashioned, low-key vibe that allows children to use their senses and imaginations. It's charming!

For young kids (up to maybe 7 years old entertaining and fun. rides included for all but the less than 2 years old. Adults pay same admission price as kids. Not reasonable since the adults do the "babysitting".

This place is great for kids under the age of 5. There are play areas, slides and a merry go round. It's a small place and you can probably spend about an hour to maybe 2 hours here. It really depends on your child. They do offer food to buy or you can bring in food and have a picnic.... More

Fairyland remains the go to park for all children in America! Where else can a family get 3 puppet shows a day. Safe rides and live child-friendly entertainment?

Went there for my #2 granddaughter's 2nd birthday. Was surprised to see the really nice park area that surrounded Fairland itself. Got enthused despite the frazzled feeling I get when I drive around Oakland. Parking was cheap. Handed a surly kid $2 and proceeded to down a line of parking spots that barely look big enough to accommodate a VW... More

Thank you for taking the time to write this review! We're so glad your granddaughter enjoyed her visit to Fairyland. And we hope you'll return soon -- we're making some exciting changes in our cafe menu that we think you'll appreciate, and we're holding our second annual Turn the Page! children's book festival on May 6! Located at Oakland's lovely Merritt Lake, Children's Fairyland is a delightful throwback to the pre-Disney children's play parks. Lots of activities based loosely around fairy tales, along with farm animals in pens. There is an old train and a children's reading hut that are especially nice. Be prepared though for the $10/person entry fee.

Childrens Fairyland is like a big Preschool playground. There are great puppet shows, fun play structures, some basic kiddie rides, a few animals & lots of fairy tale displays. There are some nice areas to have private birthday parties or a picnic lunch. Everything is setup for the eyes of a 3 or 4 year old, so kids over 7... More

This park advertises itself as the inspiration for Disneyland. Think early 1950s. This is a very dated, low-tech, unsupervised (even in potentially dangerous areas) park that is in need of maintenance and repair. Most things are stationary and use the "magic" key to hear a very scratchy rendition of the fairy tales. There are 4 rides -- 2 merry-go-rounds, a... More

Use to come here as a kid, and it brings me so much joy to share that with my kids! Fairyland will always be apart of our summer outings!
