I love coming to this spot. I love the historic nature of the bar and all the cool things inside. Watch your step though cause the floor is a little slanted. The beers are really great and the bartenders are even better. On warm days,...More

We were in Oakland in the rain, so we stepped into the Saloon. The floor is uneven and slanted. The room is tiny, and the bar is original from the 1800's. Sitting down with an Irish coffee in this place is like traveling back in...More

This bar truly is as good as it gets. The bartenders are the best and most colorful you could ever ask for, the drinks are stiff and reasonably priced, the decor is fun and keeps your eyes and brain busy, and the entire place just...More

Fantastic little small bar in Jack London Square in Oakland! It is truly a hole in the wall. Loved the atmosphere! The floor sloped greatly due to an earthquake, but not a big deal to me as we enjoyed the outdoor patio!

The most bizarre bar I have ever been. Inside very small and everything is crooked. Nice interior which is completely filled with history. It is also still cozy despite the small amount of available space.

If you like history, you have to go here. Seeing a business still operating from a whaling boat and the earthquake of 1906 is cool.

1906 earthquake caused rear of the First and Last Chance saloon to tilt. Fix didn't work. So as you sit at the cozy bar you lean a bit. Even before first drink. One of the most eccentric, quirky, crammed with memorabilia, super neat bars I've...More

One day I was passing by this local landmark & inquired about the name. The bartender was outside & told me that there once was a ferry dock to Alameda, which was "dry" at that time, and so people going there had a last chance...More
