This building, a Reform temple, is beautiful. Come nightfall, the locals sleep on the steps, and I'm happy the congregation hasn't had to shoo them away. It is out of time and place, Ina wonderful way.

I have loved the services I have attended here. My husband and his family are Jewish. I am not. I feel so comfortable and happy and welcomed in this place. I look forward to more occasions to worship with this community.

Wasn't able to go into the sanctuary but just walking around the original structure was amazing. I did snap a bunch of picture just because of the pattern of the brick.

Located on summit street, it has a lovely school and is steeped in Jewish culture. It is near Samuel Merritt University, Alta Bates/ Summit medical center, and about 3 blocks from the First Presbyterian Church.

This reminds me of the shuls that I remember when I was growing up. The fact that it is in Oakland off Broadway and not the Grand Concourse in the Bronx is strange.

This is beautifully designed Temple with modern updates. I have attended several Bar and Bat Mitzvahs here and the Rabbis and Cantors perform these rites of passages with flair. Don't know if is available for tours but if not, it is worth attending a service...More
