There are no touristy gift shops or stands here. Just lots of restaurants, bakeries, food stalls and markets. Prices of items are reasonable. Wish more people would visit, just to keep this Chinatown alive.

Good place for inexpensive Cantonese food and to buy fresh veggies, especially Asian. Very crowded and busy, but not very pretty. Not worth a special visit.

I've been coming here regularly for over a decade. Suddenly the neighborhood seems to have grown in the area, covers a lot more blocks now. It is also cleaner than before. Buildings have neem re-painted etc. Several wonderful markets, restaurants and eateries like bakeries!

You should check this out. If you are good you will stumble on the fortune cookie factory and get a fresh one.

I came here for Chinese food and to buy some housewares for my mother-in-law. Great selection of small shops and affordable prices!

As with Oakland itself, this area has a lot of graffiti and looks worn down. Even on the inside, some buildings look like they cannot afford to update the decor. But the people I encountered were nice. In one restaurant I used to eat at...More
