I like to stop and visit the info centers and gift shops. I was not disappointed by the vis center. The building sits right on the beach. The wind was howling 40-50 mph so it was fun to stand inside and watch the waves for a while. I didn't go to the beach due the wind but there is great... More

Wish I could have a house here. From inside the views were great and the help very friendly. This is a cavernous place with books on the region, t-shirts and plenty of stuff to buy. Too bad everything's so expensive at gift shops.

Forget the visitor's center -- it's nice, whatever. Walk along the beach. We spent all day driving in and out of redwood forests, but that beach -- it's the single most spectacular thing I experienced all day, if not in my entire life.

Good visitors center. I found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful, and there is lots of general information about Redwood NP. It contains (of course) mugs, keychains and other 'stuff' to buy, which somewhat surprisingly includes products made in the region as well as the usual China items. The location is great, with picnic areas outside. It is an... More

Be sure to stop by for any info you need about the redwood forests in Northern Humbolt county. We weren't real sure where to go see the best trees. Ranger Dale told us about Lady Bird Grove just minutes from this visitor center. Nice beach access too!

We stopped here on our way to San Francisco from Seattle after staying in the Jedediah campground. It was amazing to see how far we had traveled on 101 and to see the Pacific Ocean from here is amazing!!! My husband bought me a beautiful scarf with the coastal map and to remind me of our honeymoon roadtrip!!! Great rangers... More

This visitor center is very easy to get to from the main road. Staff is helpful and there is a beach right next to the center. Good place to orient yourself to the park and determine where you want to go to first to see the redwoods.

Stopped for restrooms and park stamps for collectors book. We walked down to the beach and learned what a sneaker was in the tsunami vocabulary world. Very clean restrooms!!! Helpful staff with directions to local attractions.

Located just south of Orick, the visitor center is easy to get to off of Highway 101. It sits on the beach near the mouth of Redwood Creek and has great resources for visitors to Redwood National Park. If nothing else, it is a convenient place for a bathroom break as there are few other places to stop nearby.

We LOVE a good NPS Visitor Center, the gift shop, the Junior Ranger guides, the orientation videos and the opportunity for a posed photo with the welcome sign. Unfortunately, this Center was missing most of this. We left scratching our heads wondering "why doesn't NPS do a better job, this is the freaking red woods!?" The film was poor quality... More
