Over 6,000 acres of meandering trails through woodland, hillside and meadows. Parking is ample, rest rooms and picnic tables are available. Biking, horseback riding, hiking, walking the dog, picnicking, playing in the creek, enjoying the views and appreciating nature easily accessible from the freeway. Go...More

This is a huge regional park, part of the green space that surrounds the built-up Bay Area. Hills and reservoirs. Places to hike and picnic.

I love Briones. I have hiked most of it and been to the peak several times. The terrain is varied from grassy rolling hills, to shady forests. On the Lafayette side, there is an archery range, as well.

My first visit to this beautiful park. It was a wonderful sunny Saturday afternoon in January. We arrived around 3pm and hiked for about 2.5hrs. Not many people, amazing sunset. Coyotes singing as we hiked back to the car.

We did a day hike and it's very scenic. Can get quite warm in summer and not a lot of shade but worth it. Keep an eye out for rattlers !

Visited in early morning. Beautiful views, with many locals walking, hiking, and enjoying a hidden gem regional park. Only $3.00 fee to enter. Well worth visiting.

A beautiful example of California oak-clad hills and streams. Walk amongst cattle herds, bird, migrating newts in the rainy season, etc. Not hugely hiked while there (admittedly on a slightly rainy day). View of reservoir on drive up/down also beautiful.

We spent a few days aclimatising to US time at Walnut Creek. The walks were very good. One of the better walks was 6.5 Km (4 miles) and 1.5 hours from near the end of Springhill Rd. There is parking (and toilets) on the north...More
