My husband took me here for my 55th birthday and it was so much fun! He was worried that it was just for kids, but most of the people there were adults. The staff were very helpful and the owner has great stories about mining. We will go again soon.

I spent a few hours one weekend at Gems of Pala, looking for the ever elusive gems, such as Tourmaline. Even though I read lots of positive reviews, I didn't have really high expectations. However, I have to admit, I did have an enjoyable time. The staff (Blue, Bob, and Shannon) were all extremely nice and very attentive and helpful.... More

I lived this very small, unique and wonderfully charming place. The owners and staff went out of our way to make it exceptional, We are new to gem mining and live In the area so we are in luck. If you want something fun, special, affordable and accessible for your family I highly recommend this place.

This place is truly a hidden "gem!" I had wanted to take my kids here last summer and we finally made it. I wasn't sure if they were open because the website doesn't have links, but after calling the phone number and reading reviews I realized they were definitely open for business. I took my 7 and 9 year-old children... More

We visited gems of Pala over the weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday we originally had reserved a dig at the Pala Chief mine unfortunately they cancelled due to weather. I can't even begin to describe immense disappointment, waking up with anticipation only to find a text message letting us know, the dig cancelled due to rain. We knew it... More

Gems of Pala is one of the most friendly places. They take the time with each person and share their love of minerals and mining. Blue is one of the best story tellers of our time. He is able to take a subject that is completely boring and make it some thing that everyone wants to know about. He is... More

Friendly staff and a chance to find neat gems. In all reality you likely won't find anything amazing, but lots of small neat pieces to be found. Since it's a bit cooler in these foothills the sun does not feel very hot but wear sunscreen. I'd recommend taking your material with you and going through it at home to be... More

We took 6 hunters to Gems of Pala, 4 adults and 2 children. For some of us it was our 3rd trip. We enjoy the surroundings as they are rustic and could remind one of a mining site. One must realize that finding jems is pure luck, so you must have that in mind when you go there. Once we... More

The location of this property is important as well as the staff. Comparing it to Pechanga it beats it by 1000%. The security staff at Pechanga is very very antagonistic and treats its hispanic patrons very disrespectfully.
