A nice surprise and worth a visit

We loved it. I was amazed at the number of notable and significant pieces and the wonderful way they blend the old and the new. I will go back whenever I am back in town.

I always look forward to my visit to this museum. It's a tightly curated display of vast variety of subjects and mediums. Location is great - just a couple blocks off the main strip. A pleasant surprise for a small area like this. Add it to your MUST DO list!

In this little hideaway of America there is a lot of endowment money that has led to a pretty good museum. There's some great content in the permanent collection and they run a good ongoing education program for the local community. As a Brit, I was surprised by the extent of their modern English collection. There is Modern American as... More

This is a great place to visit before or after Village Fest. It's free on Thursday nights. The exhibits are varied so there is something for everyone. The sculpture garden is not particularly well lit for night viewing but still enjoyable. It's a lovely small museum with a great location just up from downtown.

Brutalist building with great spacious interior galleries and cozy exterior areas (for example, just outside of the cafe). Current visiting exhibition of Western art from Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Wyoming is outstanding. It includes about 80 paintings and bronzes from art stars such as Frederic Remington, Thomas Moran, Albert Bierstadt, and Charles Russell. This is the best assemblage of... More

Great museum. All types of medium shown. Lots of glass art. This is also the home of a major entertainment venue. Walk the gardens. Look at the historic photographs. See the work of artistic masters. Close to downtown

Considering the population of Palm Springs (even combined with the other desert cities) the art museum is really worth a visit. Solid permanent collection of contemporary art and interesting special exhibitions.

A trip to the Palm Springs Art Museum is a must for my husband and me when we come to town each winter. The special exhibits are always of interest, and the permanent collection is strong. The vibe in the museum is one of energy and light, and all who work there are knowledgeable and go out of their way... More
