It could be a great stopping point but isn't particularly welcoming. Saved because of the architecture, there's little info about it and the walls of the thing aren't historic. The city could do a lot more with this site/building.Visited November 2023Written November 13, 2023

From the street fair on Palm Canyon Drive to viewing the sunrise from the Palms to pines highway we had a great time. From the Saturday Art Walk in Old LaQuintaTo playing a few of the 120 golf courses in the valley or resting by the pool and hot tub there is something for everyone.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten December 8, 2023

They did. The staff were helpful and directed us to some spots we would never have seen. We bought some souvenirs (hat and cup) and while they were not the least expensive they had things we liked.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten December 10, 2023

Completely uninterested in helping or giving guidance. Thought only purpose was to see palm spring t shirts and post cards. Asked what they’d recommend to do in Palm Springs with dogs and the woman said I don’t know, maybe walk downtown? Yeah. Genius idea….thanks for nothing. Grabbed a few brochures and was on my way. Where were the helpful people others noted ?

Worth a stop. The architecture of this building is mid modern designed by Albert Frey. It is a former gas station. There are books, tshirts, mugs, postcards, and information about the area available in the shop. Good rainy day activity.

We contacted staff here to get current advice. But at both locations of the visitor center we were given VERY outdated info (you need to update your golf course list - some of those courses have been closed to 6 years) or (young) staff that thought googling answers was 'expert' enough. He didn't even know that the PGA store was at the airport, just turned his computer so we could take a picture of the map. Also gave us the advice that Sunnylands was a quick kind of boring visit. (not!) The people were nice, but they need to be expert on the area, Also staff didn't know, when I call ahead, where the rentals car locations were that were off site. They had to google it and then still got it wrong.

Great Spot.
We were looking for information on self-guided celebrity house tours and the folks here provided us with very valuable information. We bought a guide for $5 and proceeded to enjoy our day driving around to see the listed homes.

This is a good spot to stop for a break and a rest in the shade, if approaching Palm Springs from the west. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We were surprised that there was actually some attractive merchandise for sale in the store. Yes, they are touristy items, but classy and not too expensive. There are also a number of useful hiking and other books about things to do in the area.

I'm from Germany and visit Palm Springs every year. I stop here when I first get into town and pick up gifts to take back my home, I was a little disappointed to find out that my favorite person to talk with Denice was no longer there. She always gave good places to take my little ones too. But the other folks there were helpful. Love this place

There has been no Marilyn Monroe statue here for quite some time. That the tourism site
continues to use it says oceans about Palm Springs, none of it good.

What type of clothes for end December for Sr. Citizen?
Written September 10, 2016
Hi Kktdev,
At the end of December the weather is cool for Palm Springs. I wear shorts most days and during the evenings I switch to long pants. You should probably bring a light coat or a sweater.
Temps in December range from the 40's at night to the 70's during the day and I wouldn't worry about rain too much during the winter.
There are lots of clothing stores here in Palm Springs just in case you need something that you didn't bring.
I hope that you have a great time.

We will be arriving at the Palm Springs airport in Nov. & may need transportation to our hotel in Indio. Aside from taxis is there any bus service? Cost? Thanks, Marleen
Written November 13, 2015
Does your hotel have service? Some do…call and check.
Taxi's or use Uber…..much cheaper…

Since I an't leave him in the car, can i bring my purse puppy with me on the tram?
Written January 11, 2015
This time of year, there are days where it would be cool enough to leave a puppy in the car. It may be better to pop him into a doggy day care, just make sure he's up to date on applicable vaccinations. No, they don't allow puppies on the tram. You may sometimes wish they didn't allow children on the tram, but all humans are welcome.
