We didn't know what to expect when we arrived a few days after Christmas but were pleasantly surprised when we found trails for all levels of hikers - from family (go to the Palm Grove) to serious hikers (long, not great marked trails). December is a great month for hiking in Palm Springs as weather was mild with low humidity.

The trip out to the Indian Canyons is a good chance to view the area and hike. The trails we took were not too rugged, but did entail negotiating some significant steps up and down over large rocks. I am not a great climber, and the trail to the West Fork Falls and the trail called the Andreas Canyon Loop... More

We enjoyed a couple of short hikes and the wonderful scenery in the Canyon. Well worth going to for contact with local nature characteristics.

Great place to go hiking with the kids. The scenery was alive and there are hiking trails of varying lengths and physical capabilities. It's a nice place to spend the day.

At $9 per person rather pricey. But cost included trail maps, restrrooms though primitive and well marked trails. We hiked a 8-mile loop putting together Palm Canyon, East Fork, Vanderventer and Fern Canyon Trails. Palm Canyon a striking Oasis in the desert. Probably worth the price of admission even for those unable to hike farther. We enjoyed going beyond the... More

This is my 3rd trip to hike in the Indian Canyons and it will not be my last. This time we took the 7 Sisters hike and oh my gosh was it ever beautiful. Best to check with the ranger before undertaking this hike because you have to criss cross a creek at least ten times and you want to... More

We took this hike anticipating lots of maidenhair ferns hanging down, but of the few ferns we saw, none were living. It is winter, so I imagine in Spring it is different. We loved the hike anyway, due to various cacti and interesting rock formations along the way. There was a steep section that lasted about 15 minutes, otherwise was... More

This is a nice experience any time of year. In winter the high canyon walls help to keep out the cold winds, in summer the shade of the old and lovely palms is delightful. Go early to avoid crowds.
