We went through the Stanford campus on our last drive down from S.F. to visit our family in San Luis Obispo and went by the Hoover Tower (fondly known as Hoover's Erection).. It still is an impressive edifice.

We were on the Stanford Campus and decided to wait in line to go to the top of the look out. I will say for the small nominal fee to go up to the top, it's totally worth it! Compared to some other look outs...More

Long queue to go up. A quite crowded little place. You could learn a lot from its exhibitions. Nice view from the top. Go if you have time.

There is a small fee, but the wait is worth it as the view can't be beat. If the line circles along the side back to the entrance it will take about thirty minutes.

Waited 30 minutes, but the view was worth it. Could see downtown San Fran. It was chilly, take a jacket.

An incredible view of the Stanford campus! On a clear day you can see as far as San Francisco. There are two lower wings dedicated to Herbert Hoover which are very interesting.

Our visit to Stanford included the Hoover tower. The views from the tower were spectacular. It was a clear day and we could see all the way to San Francisco and San Jose. Highly recommend it.

Hoover tower is a great sight to see. You can get good pictures from the bottom with the fountain. Fountain is located right in front of entrance. In the summer time there is usually about a 20-40 minute wait to ride up the elevator to...More

We were there on the weekend, an there was a lot of parking on campus. We parked near the visitors center. but there were many places closer. But I do not know about the permits required.
