Wines might be good, but we never got served after arriving on time for our reservation and waiting for 20 minutes. If you go, be prepared to bail if no one notices you. This is the only such experience after decades of visiting Paso wineries. It wasn't even busy!

Ok, so my wife and I have only been here twice, but both times have been memorable and tasty. We had a lovely British-Australian gent as our wine-pour-er today. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. What we've liked both times that we've been here is that our wine guides have let us taste something not on the official wine list. Both times, we've purchased those battles. Excellent customer service! This winery is on our radar anytime we're in Paso.

We started tasting early in order to fit in several different tastings. It was a chilly morning and not too busy so fortunately we were able to taste inside rather than on the patio. The grounds are beautiful and very popular with disc golfers. The inside is beautifully decorated and quite large as well. We split a tasting and it was plenty. We purchased 3 bottles of wine and can’t wait to enjoy them at home.

Castoro has a very nice disc golf course. However, check the temps before visiting if you want to play. I was down in the area in mid-July on a 96 degree day. We played 11 of 18 holes and were then overheated and dehydrated, such that we were not longer in the mood for post-play glasses of wine we had planned to drink.

Today was our 4th visit to Castoro Cellars. We love the outdoor tasting experience and the good assortment of white wines. Today we were served by Cathy H. and she was EXCEPTIONAL. We learned more from her in an hour and a half than from all of our tasting experiences combined, so far on this trip. We left with 6 bottles too!

My husband and I had a lovely outside tasting at Castoro. They had excellent white & red wines & allowed us to picnic while tasting. Our server was outstanding & gave us several special pours including the Due Mila Quindici which was amazing! Outstanding experience. A++

I visited 6 wineries on this Paso Robles trip and this was probably my least favorite. The wines weren't that great and the service was sub-par. The location isn't bad, this place was basically down the street from our hotel (La Bellasera). They have pretty nice seating right near a large field of vines. There are some good photo opportunities around.
But I primarily came here to taste the wine and the majority of the wine wasn't good. I had the mixed tasting, and I really didn't like their whites. Very fruity and sour. Some of the reds were really low quality as well, especially the Zinfandel / Primitivo. The only decent wine was the Carignan, which I took home a bottle of. It's a relatively unknown grape, but they have a decent interpretation of it.
On the service side our waitress seemed overworked and too busy for us. She scolded me and my drinking partner for drinking at a different pace and said we were making it harder for her. I suppose that's true but is that really something you should be saying to a customer? It wasn't a problem at any other winery we went to.

A lovely winery! The grounds were beautiful and the view is glorious! There is a stage for entertainment, lovely trees, tables and chairs. The menu offers appetizers to have along with the wines - either by the glass, bottle, or a wine tasting. A great place to come with family and friends. Wonderful, friendly service.

Another great tasting experience at Castoro Cellars, which is probably our favorite winery. In fact, during our August 2020 tasting, my husband joined the Wine Club.
When we tasted in August, their tasting protocol was inefficient. I said so in my TA Review and told them how to fix it. They took that advice. Now, guests use the same wine glass for each taste rather than have the Taster carry trays with wine glasses back and forth across the uneven surface.
Amy was knowledgeable and very personable. I know she's been studying wine; it's great that Castoro would give her a chance.
Castoro is in a good location.
I miss the Tasting Room of pre-pandemic days when the room was full of food products, wine-related gadgets, art, souvenirs and food. Every day, we get a little closer to normal. Some day.
