Back to Shale Oak for a visit. We hadn’t been in a couple of years but things haven’t changed—they are still awesome. The winery itself is an architectural gem with stained glass and concrete. Tasting room is located with a good view of the vineyards. Live entertainment on our visit. Very busy. My son-in-law and I thought the wine we tasted was just OK. Nothing special. Tasting fee was $15. Parking was a problem. We were lucky to find a spot.

Upon arrival we didn't get a nice warm welcome but decided to stay and glad we did. They have a wonderful patio with tables and live music 1 to 4 pm on most days. We did the wine tasting outside and the customer service was much better. They have a nice selection of many different wines to choose from. Its $15.00 for a tasting and they will put that towards any bottle of wine. The grounds are amazing and the stain glass is so beautiful. You can bring you own food in as they dont have food to purchase. We stayed at the outdoor patio and brought some snack that we had in the car and bought a few glasses of wine. The live music was really nice as well. Can't wait to go back.…

We visit Paso area regularly but somehow never knew about this winery all these years. It is a bit hidden away and hard to spot. Very happy to finally discover it !... It is an eco-friendly winery.. modern looking wine tasting room that is dog friendly. You will see a large friendly dog in the tasting room most of the weekdays. We love any winery that is dog friendly but this place also has good wines / value. !00% Petit Verdot was excellent value. The tasting room staff was very friendly.. We will return for sure. …
