Happened upon this winery and decided to try it. What a find. The Ka and Ku wines are a delight. The people make you feel like you have been there many times and this "green, sustainable" winery has the aura of a Frank Lloyd Wright designed classic. You won't be disappointed

I like the architecture of this place. Environmentally Sustainable Copenhagen style building, first LEED gold building in the region. Captures rain water off the roof and uses for irrigation. Wonderful outdoor space. Nice staff. And great wine too.

Shale Oak is a winery designed around sustainable-not only in the productions of their wines but the building themselves. Our server was also the artist in residence and provided information on the philosophy, building and wines. We had an enjoyable time tasting the wines and learning more about the winery.

This was a very informal winery with a lovely décor but not many customers. The wines were OK but nothing special and we weren't provided with much information about the so we came away without buying anything.

Perfect winery for the farm to table, sustainable living, architecture loving wino! The scent in the bathroom is slightly off putting but a million times outweighed by all the good they're doing for the world. And we were greeted at our car with wine! What could be better than that! I guess games and snacks which they definitely have too!... More

Not only their wines are delicious (Cav & 2012 Syrah the best), but their whole mission and business model is one to follow. The winery is sustainable in where they irrigate from rain water. Their building ia design to be water and energy efficent. They use recyclable and sustainable materials, e.g. bamboo, cork, reclaimed wood and metal, etc. Indigo was... More

Paso is our #1 wine destination & with each visit we try someone new. This visit we tried Shale Oak at the recommendation Zenaide a Cellars. Shale Oak is a newer winery, little more high tech, trendy tasting room then some of the others. The staff was friendly & talkative. The wines show lots of promise, we purchased 4 bottles.

Shale Oak Winery is the type of winery that makes you feel comfortable. The people there, especially Indigo, are warm, friendly, and easy to talk to. Shale Oaks has awesome wines. We found this last year and will make it one of our regular stops.

Just had to visit Shale Oak as soon as I saw the Frank Lloyd Wright-looking windows of their tasting room on the winery's website. The tasting experience was terrific from start to finish, more than a couple of bottles followed me back to NJ, and I should have signed up for their wine club. I'll be back in Feb and... More

I know that wine goes great with chocolate, but to strategically pair wine with a variety of brownies was just delightful. Be sure to schedule this in advance and allow for extra time to indulge. So fun!
